私の大好きな趣味のひとつに「釣り」があります。
「釣り」と聞くと、「独り静かに釣り糸を垂れる」「孤独を愛する人の趣味」というイメージをお持ちの方がいらっしゃるかも知れません。
事実、釣り愛好家には、そうした傾向が多く見られます。
しかし、そんな釣りにおいても「ヒトとのコミュニケーションの大切さ」をしみじみ感じることがあります。
特に初めて行った釣り場では、ポイント（魚の居そうな場所）を観察すると同時に、周囲のよく釣れている人や地元ベテランの釣り人に話を聞くことが、最も効率よく、釣果を上げるためのコツであることが分かってきました。
先日（7月下旬）ハゼを釣りに、愛知県知多市内の小さな河口へ初めて行ったときのこと。
事前に雑誌で調べておいた釣り場に到着し、釣り始めるとすぐに「コツ、コツ」と魚のアタリがありました。
しかし、そのアタリに合わせようと、釣竿をあおっても、魚が掛かりません。
アタリは頻繁にあり、そこに魚が居ることには間違いないのですが、何度合わせても釣れません。
釣れない理由を考えた結果、私が使っている釣り針とエサが、この時期（７月下旬）の小さなハゼの口に対して大き過ぎるからではないかと思いました。
しかし、魚が見えないので、どんな魚（ハゼではないかも知れない）がつついているのかも分からず、また、サイズの小さい釣り針を持っていなかったので、仕方なく、そのまま釣りを続け、釣れない状態が続きました。
しばらくして、少し離れたところに、いかにも地元のベテランと思しき、真っ黒に日焼けしたご年配の釣り人が居ることに気づきました。
遠目から見ていると、たくさんのハゼを釣っており、そのハゼのサイズはやはり小さいようです。
そこで私は、そのご年配の釣り人に邪魔にならないよう、静かに距離を置いて近づき、話しかけました。
“この釣り場に初めて来たこと”、“アタリはあるが魚が掛からないこと”を話し、私が使っている仕掛けを見てもらいました。
すると、ご年配の釣り人は「釣り針が大きいよ。この小さな釣り針を使ってみなよ」と親切にも釣り針をくれました。
さらに「エサ（ゴカイ）も太すぎるね」と、使っていた細いゴカイを分けてくれました。
早速、もらった釣り針とエサで釣り始めると、釣れる！釣れる！乱獲モードに突入です！
「××番台さん、スタートしましたァ～！」という館内アナウンスが聞こえた気がしました。
入れ食いの状態は、潮が引くまで続きました。
おじいさん、有難う！
せめてものお礼にと、ジュースの自販機を探し、冷たい缶コーヒーを差し入れ、お礼を言いました。
こうして、ご年配の釣り人の親切のおかげで、
「今晩のおかずは、ハゼの天ぷらだよ！」と妻に大見栄きって釣りに出かけた私の面子は保たれました。
さて、妻とのコミュニケーション（夫婦関係）は？と聞かれると・・・。
目下の課題といったところでしょうか。（笑）

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.
